Paul Lundberg

Starting with the company in 1998, Paul Lundberg has been working with the Department Villages and giftware lines for most of this time. He enjoys the challenges of each design assignment and appreciates the input he gets from fellow team members and the many great ideas he gets from collectors.

Paul comes from an artistic family and has worked to master his talents in college where he majored in Graphic Design. “Ever since I can remember I have always had a fondness for art. Being creative is a constant part of my life – from drawing and painting to ceramics and sculpture.

“My degree afforded me a good foundation at Department 56 where I began designing Village pieces, mostly for North Pole and Snow Village. More recently I have also been working on general Christmas products, like the Enesco brand “Tails With Heart” and “Foundations.” I really enjoy what I do at Department 56 and hope to continue until I can no longer hold a pencil in my hand.” Paul is now the primary designer for the North Pole Village series and most of the licensed brands including Disney, Peanuts and the Grinch.

Paul’s favorite collection right now is the new Harry Potter Village series. He was a fan of the books long before Department 56 got licensing permission to create the series and read the series with his children. His fondness for, and knowledge of details of the books has been a tremendous help in designing the buildings and we know that all collectors who have seen this series are excited to bring Hogwarts to life. Paul enjoys the challenge of working on licensed pieces and hopes that you like what he comes up with.

When not at work Paul still finds time to paint with watercolors and draw, primarily with pen and ink. He is also a very good photographer and an avid cyclist.
